Painted Furniture Ideas

Painted Furniture is getting increasingly popular these days within the modern home. Was looking around recently and spotted a range of Painted Furniture which stood out, so the perfect Painted Furniture Ideas.

The reason it stood out is that traditionally a softwood like Pine has been used in Painted Furniture but this was made from a high quality hardwood, namely Oak. This range is Canterbury Painted Furniture.

When I was looking around I found quite a few different styles and ranges of painted furniture but the Canterbury Painted Range really is a cut above in style and quality. No offence but some of the furniture Ikea sell is no where near the same quality as this range. Quite expensive for MDF furniture I would say.

Also with there being so many different styles of painted furniture available it can get confusing on what to look for and what would suit a particular room. But sometimes the quality of the timber should persuade you to buy the furniture.

When furniture is painted it not only adds more than color; it completely changes the appearance of the piece, giving it sometimes more personality. For instance a french style chateau bedroom set painted, would give it that how do you say va va voom and really finish off a contemporary bedroom or even a traditionally styled room.
I also found very popular with manufactures a two tone design. With the tops, bases and handles being waxed or lacquered and the body of the furniture painted. Retailers and websites pushed these within children's bedrooms but personally this furniture would look great in living rooms and other general living space.

You can get furniture painted all different colours ranging from blue, pink, yellow and even neon green. Personally not my favourite but what ever floats your boat. Great for a kids room, for instance pink would sit perfectly in a young girls room. And neon green could fit ...... Somewhere I'm sure.

But the most popular colour by far across the board of painted furniture is white. There are a few different variations of the a light colour paint such as ivory or cream.

With there being an obvious appeal to wanting to change something you like into something which you love. Painting old furniture can do just that. Even if the furniture has been passed from Mum and Dad, other relatives or friends. The paint can cover worn surfaces and can work miracles on the furniture, it can give even serious pieces a lift and a more delightful look.

Painted Furniture is a great choice for any bedroom or dining room in need of a revamp.
